END OF THE YEAR

Second semester finals are coming up. Finals will begin on Monday, May 19 for blocks 1, 2 and 3. Finals on Tuesday, May 20 will be blocks 5, 6 and 7. May 19 and 20 are noon dismissals. Blocks 4 and 8 finals are on Wednesday, May 21. Following finals will be an All-School Mass. Students will be dismissed for summer break after Mass.

All fees must be paid in order to take finals. Seniors can receive exemption from finals with an “A” grade in the class, as well as teacher permission. Senior exemption forms are available in the front office and are due May 7 at 3:30 p.m. Forms must be signed by a parent or guardian.

The Baccalaureate Mass and Convocation will be Wednesday, May 14 at the Church of the Magdalen from 9:30 a.m. to noon. The graduation ceremony will be held Sunday, May 18 at Park City Arena at 4 p.m. Senior packet pickup will begin May 21.

PERFORMANCES

The band will perform its spring concert on May 5 in the auditorium at 7 p.m. Souvenir will take place on May 10 in the auditorium at 7 p.m. The musical performance features seniors, as well as other students, involved with fine arts at Kapaun Mt. Carmel. Additionally, art will be showcased in the Round. This year’s theme for Souvenir is inspiration. Admission is free for both the band spring concert and for Souvenir.

KU RELAYS

At the prestigious KU Relays, April 18-19, several KMC athletes had impressive finishes. Senior Jack Guthridge was the 400 meter champion. Senior Dawson Grabendike was the 300 meter hurdles champion. Junior Daniel Enriquez was the 3200 meter champion, beating the KU Relays record and school record with a time of 8:58.77. Additionally, Enriquez placed third in the 1600 meter, setting a new school record of 4:10.04. Junior Cole Reintjes placed second in 2k steeplechase with a new school record. Grabendike, junior Jude Porter, freshman Caleb Coffey, and Guthridge placed third in the boys 4x4 with a new school record of 3:20.51.

HOUSE OF THE YEAR

Ignatius of Loyola won the 2024-2025 House of the Year Competition with 129 points. Clare of Assisi placed second and Katharine Drexel placed third.
